Using Or

Or is used to indicate an alternative. According to Robinson and Penner (2005) or is used to show a choice. Or is used when there is a choice between two or more options, use the conjunction or.  Examples:

1.      Do you want to go with me or stay at home ?

2.      He must stay out of haunted houses, or he will have a stroke.

3.      We can go to the movies or to the mall.

4.      Mrs. Smith or Mrs. Jones will go with the class.

5.      Sit on the bench or on the grass.

6.      We can learn to talk English or we can depend on sign language.
